Shopping and Transport

Tescos Ludlow

The ubiquitous supermarket chain needs no introduction, but is the most convenient one stop shop for all you needs while staying at Sutton Court Farm. Situated at the bottom of Corve Street in Ludlow.

Harry Tuffins, Craven Arms

For a supermarket with a more local favour, this South Shropshire institution is situated in the centre of Craven Arms. It stocks a plethora of locally sourced produce at reasonable prices, including representatives from almost the entire brewing industry of the Marches, a feature sadly lacking in the Ludlow’s Tesco. It also has an excellent selection of frozen ready meals from the ‘Cook‘ range, perfect if you don’t want the fuss of cooking from scratch. There is also a garden centre, petrol station, laundry and Subway sandwich bar.

Co-operative, Ludlow

On the A49 towards Leominster, this small supermarket and petrol station is good for small shops and refuelling.

Ludlow Farm Shop

This venerable Ludlow institution is on the A49 just outside Bromfield. has recently been rebranded (formerly the Ludlow Food Centre). You might not want to get all your shopping here, but the sheer variety and quality of local produce makes it a must visit location during your stay at Sutton Court Farm. Much of the produce comes from the 8000 acre Oakly Farm Estate. On the site is also an excellent cafe and restaurant, a pub (the Clive), a Post Office, childrens playground, garden centre and the Isla Bikes factory, who specialise in bikes specially built for children.

Broad Bean

Excellent delicatessen on Broad Street in Ludlow. Sells a range of products from local, artisan and sustainable sources.

The two nearest pharmacists are Boots, on Corve Street in Ludlow, and Lunts, in Craven Arms.

Taxi Firms

Taxis may be busy, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Please make sure to book in advance. Suffice to say that Uber has mad no inroads to rural Shropshire.
